The School of Health Sciences and Nursing at Alupe University College is a multidisciplinary academic unit dedicated to the training of competent, ethical, and responsive health professionals. The School is among the established schools of the University and currently offers undergraduate programmes that address critical health workforce needs in the region and beyond.

The School brings together strong basic science departments, including Human Anatomy, Medical Physiology, Medical Biochemistry, Medical Microbiology and Parasitology, Behavioural Sciences, Nutrition, and Medical Laboratory Sciences. These departments provide a solid scientific foundation that underpins all health training programmes within the School.

In line with its growth and mandate, the School is developing and strengthening clinical and professional disciplines, including Nursing Sciences, Anaesthesiology and Critical Care, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Radiology and Imaging, and Mental Health. These disciplines are intended to support the expansion of clinical training, service delivery, and future programme development.

Academic delivery within the School is supported by a team of qualified and experienced faculty drawn from diverse health specialties, with expertise spanning public health, laboratory sciences, anaesthesiology, physical therapy, behavioural sciences, microbiology, biochemistry, and medical psychology. Faculty members are actively engaged in teaching, research, and community-oriented scholarship that responds to local and national health priorities.

The School of Health Sciences and Nursing is committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service, and works closely with health facilities, regulatory bodies, and partners to ensure its programmes remain relevant, practical, and aligned with national health and education standards.
