About us
The School of Health Sciences and Nursing at Alupe University College is one of the core academic Schools established to support the University’s mandate of training competent health professionals, advancing research, and serving the health needs of the region.
The School offers undergraduate programmes in Nursing, Physical Therapy, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Environmental Health, and Medical Psychology, supported by strong basic science departments including Human Anatomy, Medical Physiology, Medical Biochemistry, Medical Microbiology and Parasitology, Behavioural Sciences, Nutrition, and Medical Laboratory Sciences. A Department of Human Pathology has also been established to support teaching and service delivery to referral hospitals in the region, while additional clinical departments are being developed to strengthen clinical training and expand programme offerings

Research and Collaboration
The School of Health Sciences and Nursing at Alupe University College is committed to strengthening health research, partnerships, and academic exchange to enhance learning, innovation, and service delivery.
The School collaborates with national research and healthcare institutions, including the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) and Alupe Sub-County Hospitals, to support applied research, clinical training, and community-based health initiatives. These partnerships provide opportunities for staff and students to participate in research addressing priority health challenges and to gain hands-on experience in real healthcare and research environments.
In addition, the School participates in student exchange programmes that expose learners to diverse academic and clinical settings. Through these exchanges, students gain broader professional perspectives, intercultural experience, and enhanced competencies that strengthen their academic and career development.
